ASU-Beebe launches ‘The Charge’ podcast

BEEBE — Arkansas State University–Beebe is excited to announce the addition of its podcast production “The Charge” which premiered on Monday, Aug. 18.

Produced by the ASU-Beebe marketing department, the podcast will be a monthly production with featured guests to include past or present students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors or community members.

Matt Jenkins, coordinator of marketing, said, “This has been in the planning stages for several years, and we are so excited to get this project off the ground and provide a forum for presenting timely information as well as ‘get to know’ spotlights.”

With the recent addition of the new portal and mobile app, Jenkins said the podcast offers another way for students, faculty and staff to stay informed, engaged and connected with the college community.

The name “The Charge” reflects both ASU-Beebe’s Vanguard spirit and its mission to inspire, motivate and energize listeners with stories, insights and conversations that move our community forward.

The first episode will feature a ‘back to school’ themed question and answer session featuring Dr. Jennifer Methvin, chancellor of ASU-Beebe, and Augustus Harris, president of the ASU-Beebe Student Government Association.

Future episodes will explore topics such as innovative academic programs, career and technical education spotlights, behind-the-scenes conversations with faculty and alumni success stories from across Arkansas.

“The podcast is a conversational and casual platform, showcasing all the great things happening across our campuses. We want to also tell the stories of our alumni, highlighting both their professional and personal achievements,” Jenkins said.

Episode 1 of “The Charge” will be released at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18 to Apple Podcasts, Spotify Podcasts, and a video version on YouTube.
