08 Dec 2014 Art on the Green to host award ceremony at Marguerite Vann
Art on the Green in Littleton Park, 1100 Bob Courtway Dr., will host an award ceremony for fourth grade students of Marguerite Vann Elementary at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9.
“Their skills amaze me. We love having these wonderful, uplifting pieces in our Gallery,” said Nina Baker. “We hope the public will come support these amazing young artists at the awards ceremony.”
Eighty-one students from Marguerite Vann submitted their work to be judged by four local artists, Bonny McKay, Lois Giorgis, Sheila Parsons and Susan Peterson. The winning painting will be on the cover of the school yearbook.
“I would be delighted to have some of these works in my home and studio,” said artist and judge Sheila Parsons. “The paintings demonstrate an understanding by the students far above the norm for their ages.”
The public is invited to attend the awards ceremony. Please RSVP at 501.205.1922.
