ArkansasIDEAS offers comprehensive water safety awareness campaign

CONWAY — As summer approaches and families head to the water, to promote water safety, ArkansasIDEASis offering resources to educate parents, caregivers and the public with essential tools and knowledge to stay safe around pools, lakes, rivers and more.

Key features of the water safety resource:

  • Educational videos: A series of informative videos covering the importance of water safety; tips for safe practices; safety measures for rivers, lakes, streams, home pools, hot tubs, beaches and oceans; and winter water safety.
  • Swimming lesson information: Guidance on locating swimming lessons offered by city pools, YMCAs, universities, hospitals, gyms and other local organizations.
  • Parent and caregiver resources: Access to in-person and online classes, including swimming lessons, CPR training, boater education and information on scholarships for swimming lessons.
  • Child-friendly materials: Engaging content like “Bobber the Water Safety Dog” and “WHALE Tales” to teach children about water safety in a fun and interactive manner.
