Arkansas State Fair Celebrates Strong Finish

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – The Arkansas State Fair once again proved to be Arkansas’s favorite entertainment event. An impressive 550, 899 people flooded the gates making it the second largest in Fair history.

“We were thrilled to see so many people pouring in each day,” said General Manager Tiffany Wilkerson. “There is a lot of planning and hard work that goes into this event, so it’s rewarding to see it pay off and to know we are doing something right.”

The beautiful 10-day weather streak certainly helped with attendance, but the variety of thrilling rides, brand new food vendors and exciting entertainment, both indoors and out, made for a fun and memorable event for all who attended.

“Mother nature was certainly good to us this year,” said Wilkerson. “But the variety of entertainment we provide for people of all ages is what keeps people coming back year after year, rain or shine. And with the newly implemented youth curfew and strong law enforcement presence, I think people know this is a safe and family-friendly event.”

While many people enjoyed the outdoor festivities, this year marked the successful and historic return of concerts to Barton Coliseum. Thousands of people rocked out to a variety of musical genres while enjoying the new flooring that gives Barton a legitimate convert venue feel.

“We want people to know that Barton Coliseum is back and open for business,” said Wilkerson. “It is a beautiful, historical venue that is ready for the return of concerts, shows, graduations and more.”
