Arkansas artist produces print for Ducks Unlimited

Glenn Pollard has had a working relationship with Ducks Unlimited for more than 20 years.

Since 2014, Arkansas artist Glenn Pollard has produced a series of waterfowl art prints exclusively for Arkansas Ducks Unlimited, the organization that raises money for wetlands conservation.

The print is made available to Ducks Unlimited supporters as part of the organization’s sponsor print program.

As owner of Pollard Studio in Searcy, which provides fine art and custom framing, he has had a working relationship with Ducks Unlimited for more than 20 years.

Pollard’s career began as a custom framer in local frame shops, where he honed his craft and completed freelance jobs and portraiture. He purchased his art shop in 2007.

He defines his artistic style as illustrative realism. “It’s mostly traditional realism, but I will push colors and contours for a more dramatic effect,” he said.

Pollard said it is a good fit for waterfowl art and wildlife art in general. “Most Ducks Unlimited collectors value art with extremely realistic rendering. They are looking for the ideal representation of what they experience in nature.”

Ducks Unlimited is the world’s leading conservation group for wetlands and waterfowl and have protected millions of acres. It is a mission Pollard fully endorses on a personal level as well. “The wetlands not only provide habitat for wildlife, they also filter contaminants from natural water supplies,” he said. “That’s good for everyone.”

Although the current year print is only available with a sponsor-level membership in Arkansas, signed and numbered artist proof versions from previous years are available at Pollard Studio and through the web store. Canvas reproductions are available by special order.
