Aquakids Set Records in Fayetteville Swim Meet

Thirty-one Aquakids recently broke records and combined for 40 new long course state competition times at the Summer Invite Meet in Fayetteville.  

Swimmers with new state times include Brooklyn Anderson in the 100 Fly and 100 Free; Olivia Dungan 50 Breast; Ethan Smith 100 Free; Ethan Winningham 50 Free and 50 Back; Brooklyn Anderson 100 Free; Samantha West 50 and 100 Breast, and 200 IM; Grace Karl 100 and 200 Breast; Sarah Grace Meek 100 Free; Emily Holman 100 Free, 50 and 100 Breast, 50 Fly, and 200 IM; Casey Ragsdale 100 Free; and Sydney Wingfield 100 Back and 100 Free.  

Several swimmers posted double A to quad A times. AA times: Brooklyn Anderson: 50 and 100 Back; Emily Holman: 50 Free; Samantha West: 100, 200, and 400 Free and 50 Back; Sydney Wingfield: 50 Free; and Ty Wingfield: 100 Fly and 400 Free. AAA times: AJ Mainord: 100 and 200 IM; Samantha West: 50 Free; and Ty Wingfield: 200 Free, 50 and 100 Back, 50 Fly, and 200 IM. AAAA time: Ty Wingfield: 50 and 100 Free.

A number of Aquakids broke meet and team swimming records.

New meet records included AJ Mainord in the 100 Breast; Samantha West: 400 Free; Ty Wingfield: 50, 100, and 200 Free and 100 Back. New team records were set by AJ Mainord in the 50 Fly; Samantha West: 800 Free; and Ty Wingfield: 50, 100 and 200 Free, and 50 Back.

The meet Top 10 high point awards in the girls 10 & under category went to Samantha West in first place with 50 points and Brooklyn Anderson in ninth with 24 points. Emily Holman placed seventh in girls 11-12 with 42 points, and Ty Wingfield placed second in boys 11-12 with 59 points.

The drop of the meet goes to Aiyla East, who dropped 57 seconds in the 200 Free.
