23 May 2015 app of the month: Sound Box by Sago Mini
by Brittany Gilbert
I discovered this app when a friend had her 9-month-old playing with it on her iPad. It was amazing to me that this little baby was thoroughly enjoying the app and moving the screen around without any assistance.
Sound Box turns your iPhone or iPad into a music box. Your little one can shake, rattle and tap the screen to make all sorts of noises and characters appear. As they tap the screen, little balls are created and move around the screen bumping in to each other as they tilt the device. There are nine different sounds they can explore. Cars, animals, musical instruments and wind chimes are just a few.
What I really love about this app is the sensory development that is being encouraged. There are lots of colors and sounds for your little one to explore and play with while they learn cause and effect.
Sound Box is made for ages 5 and under.
