Annual Strawberry Festival kicks off April 23 in Cabot

Organizers are putting the finishing touches on the 13th Annual Cabot Strawberry Festival which kicks off Thursday, April 23, at Cabot Veteran’s Park Community Center.

The Junior Auxiliary of Cabot will host its 13th annual Strawberry Festival Thursday, April 23, through Saturday, April 25.

The festival, sponsored by Junior Auxiliary of Cabot, features Cabot’s very own strawberries from three local growers: Holland Bottom Farm, The Cabot Patch and Barnhill Orchards.

The family-oriented event includes a carnival on Thursday, April 23, and Friday, April 24 from 6 to 9pm; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 25.

“The Cabot Strawberry Festival is a family-friendly event that includes a carnival, 5K Fun Run, pageant, vendors, Kid Zone and of course Cabot strawberries,” said Melissa Davis, public relations chairman for the festival. “It is organized by the Junior Auxiliary of Cabot which means all proceeds from the weekend go back into the community, specifically benefiting the children. We are looking forward to our 13th annual event and hope everyone can come out and support this worthy cause.”

Other events planned on Saturday include a 5K at 8 a.m., a pageant at 10 a.m., vendors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the band “Go 4 Broke” from 3:30 to 6 p.m. There will also be a kids zone, food, a kid zone and family activities.
