02 Oct 2013 Annual "Red Beans & Rice Bowl" on Saturday
The University of Central Arkansas Bears and the McNeese State Cowboys will open conference play on Saturday with the annual “Red Beans & Rice Bowl.”
The game will be played at 3 p.m. at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.
The game celebrates the long tradition of farming in both states, specifically the rice and beans industries. UCA has won the past three meetings, and four of the five in the series since the inception of the trophy.
First Security Bank is this week’s game sponsor.
