Annual PRCA rodeo to be held

The Central Arkansas Professional Rodeo Cowboys will host the eighth annual Central Arkansas PRCA Rodeo at 7 p.m. Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, at CrossRoads Cowboy Church and Two Bar Two Arena in El Paso.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 7 to 12, and free for children 6 and younger.

The event has been ranked the third best PRCA Rodeo in Arkansas, behind Fort Smith and Springdale.  Both of these rodeos have been going on for 50 to 66 years.

“In the past years, we have had contestants from over 20 states and spectators from as far away as China,” said organizer Becky Switzer. “At the last rodeo in April 2015, we had crowds of 2,000 each night and that is not counting the folks that did not get a seat in the stands.”

This year’s stock contractor will be Andrews Rodeo Co.

PRCA Rodeo Clown Gizmo McCracken will perform both nights. Gizmo has been entertaining crowds for 22 years and has traveled all over the United States and Canada. Gizmo takes pride that his act is a good, clean, family-style comedy.
