Annual open house to be held for Pioneer Village

Pioneer Village will host its annual Spring Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 6, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 7. Pioneer Village, located at 1200 Higginson St. in Searcy, is a preservation project of the White County Historical Society and represents a late 19th century village. All buildings will be open and costumed guides will be throughout the village. Activities include square dancing and live music. Pioneer craftsmen will demonstrate wood working, blacksmithing, spinning, soap making and bee keeping. There will also be vendors, food, kettle corn, farm animals, pioneer games for children and more. Civil War reenactors will be on the grounds. Admission and parking are free. Donations are accepted.
