25 Nov 2024 Annual Festival of the Nativities and chili supper planned for Dec. 8
CONWAY — Grace Presbyterian Church will host the Festival of the Nativities from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8. There is no cost to view the 75 to 100 nativity sets that will be on display. In conjunction with the event, a chili supper is planned from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with proceeds from the supper going to Conway Cradle Care. The cost is $7 per person.
“This is a long-standing mission endeavor between Grace Presbyterian Church and Conway Cradle Care,” said Jim Hays, a lay pastor with the church. Last year, the Festival of the Nativities was renewed after taking a COVID-19 break, and 85 nativities were on display.”
In 2023, the chili supper raised $977. The nativity showcase is the only one of its kind in Faulkner County which makes it a distinguishable event for Grace Presbyterian church to host each year, according to Hays.
Anyone can display their nativity sets. The church will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, for the community to set up nativities and the Festival of the Nativities will take place the following day.
