Annual Festival of Chairs scheduled

The event benefits the Children’s Advocacy Alliance, a partnership between the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the 20th Judicial District and the Central Arkansas Children’s Advocacy Center.

The Festival of Chairs’ signature feature is the beautifully repurposed chairs that go up for auction. Local artists take broken and damaged chairs and with a lot of love and creativity bring them back to life. The chairs are symbolic of the children and families the Children’s Advocacy Alliance serves on a daily basis. These chairs, along with other artwork and hundreds of other unique and exciting items, are featured in live and silent auctions. Artists who wish to submit a chair for this year’s festival should have them at the Alliance office, located at 707 Parkway, Suite 101, by September 29th.  The chairs will be on display in businesses around town prior to the event.

Known as one of the biggest fundraising events in our community, the Festival of Chairs also features a Bubbly and Baubles raffle with a gorgeous bauble, valued at $6,000, donated by Fletcher Smith Jewelers. Raffle tickets are $40 each or 3 for $100 and can be purchased prior to the event.

Hors d’oeuvres provided by Mikes’ Place, Michelangelo’s, Beef O’Brady’s, Chili’s, Oak Street Bistro, TGI Friday’s, US Pizza, Moe’s Southwestern Grill, Patti Cakes and Cakes by Catie along with live music and a DJ make the party atmosphere come alive.

Event ticket prices are $50 per person in advance and $60 at the door.
