26 Oct 2009 Alzheimer’s Walk at Toad Suck Park
It was an encouraging atmosphere of hope as participants walked through Toad Suck Park at the Arkansas River, waving flags, cheering, holding banners and wearing T-shirts to display their positive determination to educate and uplift those families affected by the disease.
After finishing the trip around the park, walkers were brought back to enjoy free food and door prizes, while walk director Melissa Longing spoke about ways to cope with the disease. The walk committee hopes to have an even better turn out for next year’s event, which is already in the works.
