Alzheimer’s coping classes

The Alzheimer’s Association of Arkansas returns to the Faulkner County Library with a series of classes designed to help families and patients cope with the disease.

The first class, Healthy Living for your Brain and Body:  Tips from the Latest Research, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4.

There will be two more classes in February; at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, the class will be Know the 10 Signs – Early Detection Matters.

At 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, there will be a session titled Dementia Conversations.

Living with Alzheimer’s Middle Stage Caregiving is the topic for the March classes, which will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesdays, March 1, 8, and 15.

On Tuesday, April 5, the topic is Living with Alzheimer’s Late Stage Care Giving. This class is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a class at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, titled Effective Communication Strategies.

On Tuesday, May 17, a special class will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. titled Legal and Financial Planning.

The series ends on Thursday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to noon with Living with Alzheimer’s Younger Onset.
