The Top 10 songwriters from the 2015 Alchemy Songwriting Competition will be invited to perform at the fifth annual Alchemy Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Brick Room in Downtown Conway. Finalists will perform their winning songs in front of a live audience and receive valuable feedback from a panel of guest judges, recording artists/songwriters Kris Allen and Adam Hambrick, and producer/songwriter Jonathan Smith. All genre and age division winners will be announced throughout the evening, with the grand prize winner selected at the end of the showcase. The top overall winner will receive a prize package that includes a trip to Los Angeles and a day to record their song in the studio of award-winning Hollywood producer Warren Huart. The Alchemy Songwriting Competition and Showcase are hosted by Blackbird Academy of Arts, a non-profit that works to provide quality arts education and experiences to the Central Arkansas area. General admission tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door, with student admission at $10. VIP tickets are $60. Ticket sales are limited.
