15 Jul 2013 AETN Foundation receives HP grant
The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Foundation recently received a technology grant valued at $11,000 from HP. The grant includes 16 Thin Clients and 20-inch monitors and two ProBook Notebooks.
“The new HP equipment will allow the AETN Foundation staff and volunteers to meet our fundraising goals by providing better service to our donors,” said Mona Dixon, AETN Foundation chief operating officer and director of development. “We are so appreciative to HP for recognizing the importance of the quality educational programming and services AETN provides to our state and for its willingness to ensure our continued success.
“We hope this is the beginning of a great partnership between AETN and HP.”
HP’s donation to the AETN Foundation will be used by hundreds of volunteers who assist with fundraising during the network’s on-air membership campaigns each year. The equipment has been placed in AETN’s Jane Krutz Studio for use with the phone bank for pledge calls.
“HP is supporting the AETN Foundation as it enhances the quality of life and prosperity of the people of Arkansas,” Caroline Barlerin, Director of Communications and Global Community Involvement, Sustainability and Social Innovation, HP, said.
The AETN Foundation raises approximately $2 million annually to support programming costs. A significant portion of the goal is met through on-air membership campaigns, and many programs would not be available without viewer donations.
The AETN Foundation exists to raise the funds necessary to support AETN’s mission of enhancing lives through trusted public television programs and educational services. The Foundation provides Arkansans opportunities to connect with the only statewide public media outlet by becoming a financial donor, corporate or foundation partner, volunteer, or by other means of giving. The AETN Foundation builds relationships between AETN, donors and viewers and is committed to being a transparent and accountable steward of private financial support.
