Active shooter training offered in Mayflower

MAYFLOWER – The Civilian Response to Active Shooter (CRASE) Training will be presented by a special agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Little Rock Field Office, on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Mayflower City Center at 5 Ashmore Drive. The event is open to the public; however, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Register at yarnkids.com or email [email protected].

The training is sponsored by Youth Advocate and Resource Network in partnership with the City of Mayflower and the Mayflower Police Department. 

The CRASE course is built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004. It provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues and considerations for conducting drills.
