The fifth annual A Royal Night Out fundraising event was held recently at Next Level Events in Downtown Little Rock.
Community Connections, a non-profit group based in Conway, hosts the event each year to fundraise for general programs for children with special needs.
“I am always overwhelmed by the generosity of the sponsors and individuals who come out to A Royal Night Out,” said Community Connections Executive Director Courtney Leach. “I am blessed with the opportunity to see the incredible children and families who benefit from Community Connections programs. I only hope our videos and performances at A Royal Night Out help show the guests the incredible impact their donations and support are making!”
The mission of the Community Connections program is to assist children with disabilities by providing free self-esteem building activities in a safe environment. They provide support to the children’s families as well. Children in Conway, Little Rock, Sherwood, Russellville and Hot Springs benefit from the programs.
Todd and Amy Denton, owners of Pediatrics Plus Therapy Service, established Community Connections in 2005. They currently serve as the president and vice president of the organization. Thirteen other board members contribute to the success of the program.
Community Connections has helped sponsor events such as TOP soccer, My ART, Rivals United Football League, ACTS Jr. Theater, martial arts, First Tee Gold, I Can! Make Music, Showstoppers Cheerleading, The Dyslexia Project and many other programs.
Matt Mosler and Mallory Hardin-Brooks from KARK-TV served as the emcees for the evening.
“This year’s Royal Night Out was the most successful to date,” Leach said. “The event also featured a performance by Community Connection’s own Darci Wolters. She is a young lady diagnosed with autism with incredible music talent. She played her guitar and sang.”
