This Friday the 2012 high school football playoffs begin in Arkansas, and 37 teams from the 501 will be setting sights on a championship finish.
But only six teams will claim the prize. Will one or more be from the 501? We’ll find out soon enough.

And in 501 college football news, congratulations are in order for the University of Central Arkansas Bears. UCA clinched its first official Southland Conference title and an automatic playoff bid last week with a homecoming victory over Northwestern State, 35-14. The Bears are off this week and will face Eastern Illinois next week at Estes Stadium to close out the 2012 regular season schedule.
