“Photography: Learn the Basics” and “Photography: Advance Your Skills” will be presented by 501 LIFE photographer Mike Kemp through the Outreach program at the University of Central Arkansas.

The class schedule:

  • Photography: Learn the Basics will be held 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays Sept. 2 – Oct.  7
  • Photography: Advance Your Skills will be held 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays Oct. 14 – Nov. 18

The basic photography course provides novice photographers with a solid understanding of the basic functions of the camera, film or digital, and reveals pointers and techniques for improving photos in a variety of settings, including sporting events, portraits, candid family moments and low-light photography.

Those attending the advance class will learn how to perfect subject approach and capture brilliant images. The concept of pre-visualization of a photo will be introduced and photographers will learn more about metering, portrait lighting and other advanced photography concepts.
