501 LIFE segment Thursday on KARK

The October edition of 501 LIFE will be highlighted Thursday on the KARK Channel 4 noon show.

Each month, 501 LIFE publisher and editor Sonja Keith presents information about that month’s issue.

This edition celebrates “the splendor of fall” with a variety of features on subjects ranging from football and festivals to food and foliage. Features selected from the edition for inclusion in the segment include:

“Loving LIFE” assignment – Fall means “back to school” and for this edition, 501 LIFE invited schools to take photos with students and the magazine at the beginning of school. “We were overwhelmed by the response and creativity of the participating schools,” said Keith.

501 Football spotlight – Fall also signals time for football. This month, the 501 features Forrest Been, a member of the Morrilton Devil Dog football team who was selected for the first 501 Football Team. Forrest and other members of the 501 team will be honored Saturday, Oct. 1, at a reception at the 501 office.

Friday night sunsets – During the summer, 501 LIFE photographer Mike Kemp and his wife, Crystal, sought out opportunities to enjoy and photograph beautiful sunsets in Central Arkansas.

In addition to the live broadcast, the segment can be seen on the station’s website – arkansasmatters.com.
