17 Aug 2017 501 LIFE announces 501 Football Team 2017
The wait for football’s return is over! And with its return, 501 LIFE is excited to announce the 2017 edition of the 501 Football Team.
The team features 25 student-athletes — the best the 501 has to offer both on and off the field. Every county in the 501 is represented on the team.
Sponsors for this year’s 501 Football Team are Conway Ortho and Sports Medicine, Conway Regional Health System and First Security Bank.
2017 team members include: Beau Belcher (Benton), Jacob Bremmon (Heber Springs), Grant Brown (Greenbrier), Joseph Canady (Morrilton), Jason Edwards (CAC), Christian Gardner (Vilonia), Hunter Hilson (Haskell Harmony Grove), Turner Hudson (Mayflower), Demias Jimerson (Malvern), Carson Kennerly (Magnet Cove), Dalton Koch (Harding Academy), Hunter Lawrence (Perryville), Lester Menjivar (Cutter Morning Star), Rhett Roach (Bald Knob), Mason Schucker (Searcy), Spencer Simpson (Maumelle), Cody Skinner (Cabot), Charlie Sowell (Clinton), Cole Speer (Lake Hamilton), Winston Strawn (Conway Christian), Dupree Swanson (Hot Springs Lakeside), Nathan Turner (Conway), Johnny Ussery (Bigelow), Wyatt Varvil (Quitman) and Mason Walker (Beebe).
Players were nominated by their respective coaches and selected by the 501 LIFE staff. Nominations were weighted equally between on- and off-the-field attributes.
“I’m impressed every year by the student-athletes that are nominated for the team,” said Levi Gilbert, associate editor. “These young men are so impactful not just on their team, but also in their school and community. We enjoy being able to highlight their stories for our readers.”
The team recently met at Conway Christian School’s field for a photo shoot. In addition to being recognized in this year’s edition of 501 LIFE’s football preview issue, 501 Football 2017, each player will be featured individually throughout the fall online at 501lifemag.com and in 501 Sports Extra, 501’s sports e-newsletter. (To sign up, visit 501lifemag.com or email [email protected].)
Player features will begin publishing weekly online and in 501 Sports Extra starting in mid-August before the kickoff of the 2017 high school football season.
