501Der Women 2024: Come on Greenbrier, let’s go party

The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual event on March 28 at Legacy Acres with a Barbie-themed event. Several citizens received annual awards, and there was a silent auction and a keynote Speaker.

A hot pink jeep greeted guests as they entered the event venue, and fun and elaborate décor carried the theme.

A dance troupe performed as Barbie Dancers, and later guests were invited to dance to popular songs chosen by DJ Woo Pig. “As we reminisce on a night filled with amazing company and celebration, we are reminded that fellowship, laughter, love and building each other up is exactly what the night was about,” said Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce President Ashton Pruitt. “We are building a community of our dreams!”

The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce staff and board of directors went all-out Barbie! Christie Hensley (from left), Dr. Kelli Martin, Dena DeValle, Paula Winn, Chris Ward, Ashton Pruitt and Billy Henry.

The keynote speaker was Jenn Hann from toy company Funko Inc. “Hann was a delight and delivered a message of empowerment for our Barbies and Kens in the crowd,” Pruitt said. “She gifted our Citizen and Volunteer of the Year customized Funko Pops that look like them!”

The Chamber stressed that the community is much stronger because of the award winners who are: Meredith Post, Citizen of the Year; Christy Corker, Volunteer of the Year; Eli Weaver, Student of the Year; Shawn Johnston, XM Award Winner; and Missy Tillman, for her distinguished service to the chamber. The Business of the Year is The Children’s Clinic of Conway and in Greenbrier, the Small Business of the Year is Bleacher BLING, the New Business of the Year is Wilcox Family Funeral Home & Crematory and the Nonprofit of the Year is FMBC Clothes Closet.
